Programme Information
Graduates will develop advanced theoretical knowledge and skills for working as an advanced Nurse practitioner. Graduates will demonstrate a high level of expertise to practise in multidisciplinary health settings. Graduates are eligible for a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing award without an endorsement or a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing award with an endorsement Maori Mental Health. In addition, graduates who complete the specified modules within the programme could exit with the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing. Graduates will also be able to use this qualification as a pathway into Masters level study.
Content
Content includes: nursing knowledge, evidence and inquiry practice, advanced assessment and clinical reasoning, prescribing for advanced nursing practice, leadership and management in nursing, advanced clinical practice, nursing in the community, health care for the older person, child health nursing, nursing knowledge, research, clinical practice, rural nursing, counselling in nursing practice, health development, women's health, Maori health, diabetes, cardiac nursing practice, and primary health care. In addition the Maori Mental Health endorsement includes, Te Whiriwhiri Oranga Maori, He Rangahau Tapui Maori, He Ara Whai Matauranga and He Ara Rapu Waiora.

Entry Requirements
IELTS of 7.0 across all bands; or equivalent. The language assessment must be less than two years old at the time of application.
