Programme Information |
Graduates will be able to synthesise research evidence, knowledge and expertise for advanced nursing practice within a practice specialty. They will be able to critique organisational protocols in light of research evidence to maintain current best practice. They will demonstrate reflexive strategies for culturally safe practice within complex client situations, organisational systems and multi-disciplinary teams; and for those who follow the research option, be able to participate in scholarly inquiry through nursing research activities to improve health outcomes and inform practice, health policy and the profession.
Graduate career opportunities could include advanced nursing practice positions, management, research, education, clinical leaders, independent practice or entry into further study as Doctorate level. Completed written work can be used as part of the application for registration as a Nurse Practitioner.

Content |
The Level 9 Master of Nursing is based on a two option programme of study; Option 1 is a course work structure which includes compulsory modules in nursing research, a practice based research project, advanced nursing practice and an optional module from a range of topics: Option 2 is a dissertation structure and includes a module in nursing research and a practice based research dissertation of 90 credits conducted in the student’s own area of clinical practice.
